시작은 이렇습니다,,

 

전 태생이 알쓰라;;; ㅠㅠ;;;

술 맛을 잘 모르거든요,,

그래서 글로 보고 술을 사는 편?? 이라고 할까요?? ㅎㅎㅎ;;;

 

긍데 며칠 전, 술 자리에 초대 받았는데요,

하우스 파티인지라 맨 손으로 갈 수가 없쟈냐요~~

글서 전 날, 코스트코에 들러 와인 코너 기웃 기웃 거리다가

그래, 이거야!! 단순히 라벨이 예뻐서 픽!!

알쓰라서 용감할 수 있다지요~~ ㅋㅋㅋ

 

그리고 대망의 파뤼날!!

전 홀짝 거렸지만,

함께 하신 분들의 평이 넘나 죠은 거에요~

넘나 다행쓰죠!! ^^

마이클과 데이비드 두 형제에 의해 운영되는 와이너리래요,,

 

 

1850년대부터 6대째 캘리포니아 Lodi지역에서 포도를 재배하고 있고,

160여 년간 쌓아온 노하우로 미국 내 최상급의 포도를 생산해내고 있답니다.

캬~ 라벨이 예사롭지 않았다니까요!! ㅎㅎㅎ

 

엄격하게 재배되고 전통방식대로 양조된 와인이지만,

그것을 마시는 사람은 즐겁고 행복해야한다는 신념이 담긴 것이래요.

 

이들의 와이너리가 위치한 Lodi지역은

샌프란시스코만에서 불어오는 편서풍, 배수가 잘되는 토양,

그리고 나파, 소노마 지역보다 높은 온도는

당도가 높은 품종 특히, 진판델, 시라재배에 탁월한 기후조건이랍니다.

 

 

코스트코에서는 현재 프릭쇼 라인의 왼쪽에서부터 3가지를 구매할 수 있고요~

 

 

시라시라 라인에서는 제일 왼쪽의 쁘띠쁘띠를 구매할 수 있었어요,,

2020 FREAKSHOW CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Known for taking the road less traveled, Michael David Winery has always stood apart from the crowd. Whether it be their outlandish brands and packaging or their quirky personalities, Michael and David are definitely on a stage of their own and this wine showcases just that. The fruit for this wine comes from the original “super freak” himself, Michael Phillips’ Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard located only a medicine balls toss away from the winery.

The first star in our Freakshow series, our 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon opens the show with black cherry, strawberry and toasted hazelnut aromas. He is larger-than-life, medium in body and showcases flavors of plum, chocolate truffle and butterscotch with an oak-inspired finish that will surely have you coming back for the second act.

2019 FREAKSHOW ZINFANDEL

 

Freakshow Zinfandel is the third installment in the Freakshow lineup, following a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Red Blend. The Dazzling Fire Mistress pays homage to our roots in Lodi, a region known for exceptional Zinfandel. Typically known as a bold varietal, Freakshow Zin shows the softer, sexier side of Lodi Zin, focusing on the distinctive bright fruit and spice characteristics for which our heritage varietal is known.

 

TASTING NOTES

 

Step right up to see the Dazzling Fire Mistress light up the sky! Adding a softer, sexier side to Michael David’s band of Freaks, this medium bodied Zin spotlights wild berry and coffee aromas while flirting with notes of peppery spice. Flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate and sweet tobacco amaze the tongue with a fruit-forward, tantalizing finish.

2021 FREAKSHOW CHARDONNAY

 

Ladies and gentlemen, step right up and marvel at the wonders of Freakshow Chardonnay! This Goddess of the Sea has been scouring the ocean depths and tempting pirates and sailors alike for centuries - and now she has joined our show. The 4th act in our menagerie of Freaks is none other than the daughter of Poseidon, or ‘Madison’ as we have come to know her. A crisp and fruit forward style Chardonnay, this wine is smooth, easy drinking and oh-so-satisfying. The grapes are sourced from the Phillips family’s vineyard here in Lodi and are certified sustainable, making this Chardonnay the perfect addition to your table and our Freakshow family.

 

TASTING NOTES

Approachable, flirtatious and fun-loving, our 2021 Freakshow Chardonnay is crisp and fruit forward, with a playful zest that will tantalize any sailor she comes across. Golden straw in color, her alluring aromas of juicy apricot, citrus fruit and sweet honey accentuate mouthwatering flavors of cantaloupe, grapefruit and lime. With a smooth oak-kissed finish, she will leave you no choice but to come back for more.

2019 PETITE PETIT

 

Like elephants whose size is imposing, Petite Petit is large! A blend of 85% Petite Sirah and 15% Petit Verdot, this wine offers a joyous explosion of color and fun. It is a substantial, dense, full-bodied, whopper style of wine loaded with pure black fruit and vanilla flavors that coat the palate. It reveals remarkable richness with a finish that is slightly dry and seems to linger.

 

TASTING NOTES

 

As full bodied as the two stars of the label, Petite Petit is a grandiose, booming, larger-than-life type of wine! Opening the show with aromas of dark fruit, summer strawberries and fig, this wine showcases rich flavors of blackberry, espresso and vanilla bean on the palate. Dark, robust and deeply satisfying!
